For honorably discharged veterans, spouses, and dependent children, the following benefits are almost always available*:

VA BURIAL BENEFITS (other than cash benefits)
• Free gravespace at National Cemetery for ashes
• Free engraved headstone
• Free memorial headstone, if ashes scattered elsewhere
• Free death certificate for veteran
• Free flag for family in veteran’s name
• Free military honors ordered for veteran

CASH BENEFITS (for veteran only)

$300 available if:

Vet receiving VA pension or VA disability at time of death
Death occurs in an approved VA hospital, nursing home, hospice, or other type of VA care

$2000 available if:

Death occurs while on active duty or
Veteran died of a service-connected injury.

Located in Denver, it has been proclaimed as one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the country. Because of the cemetery’s great size, the Veterans Administration has plans to make Ft. Logan Cemetery available for burial of veterans and spouses for years to come.
