Donald L. Anderson died Thursday November 3, 2016 after years of suffering with Dementia. He leaves his wife of 33 years, Denise Anderson, his 3 daughters Cynthia Travis, Rabecca Goldstein, Heather Kelley, and son-in-law Trigg Travis,10 Grandchildren, and 8 great Grandchildren.
Donald was born to Herman & Lois Anderson in Fresno Ca., where his family had moved from Oklahoma during the “Dust Bowl” days of the Great Depression. He was the 2nd youngest in a family of 5 boys and 2 girls.
Donald joined the Navy after graduating from high school. He served on the Escort Carrier the “Badoeng Strait” in the Korean Conflict. After his discharge from the Navy Donald lived in San Francisco, where he went into a career in Management. Donald was a General Manager for the F.W. Woolworth Department stores.
Later, moving to Stockton Ca. he co-owned a construction company. During the housing boom in the late 70’s Donald and family moved to the Denver area. He continued in construction until the 80’s when the bottom fell out of the housing market. He then returned to a career in Management and met and married his 2nd wife Denise. Donald was Vice President General Manager of a camera repair facility until retirement.
Donald was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing softball and watching football, baseball and basketball in his retirement.
