Gerald E. Arnold. Age 86 Sunrise; Aug. 31, 1927, Sunset; Oct. 12, 2013 Preceded in death by his Mother and Father, 2 sisters, 1 nephew, Mother-in-law and Father-in-law. Survived by wife Barbara Arnold of 57 years; Two sons, Gerald (Petra) Arnold and Bernard Arnold; 3 grandchildren. Born in Kinnikinnick, Ohio, moved to Chillicothe, Ohio, where he graduated from Chillicothe High School. He joined at age 18, Army/Air Force, where he got his college education. He served many places in Europe. He was stationed at McCord Air Force base where he met he wife Barbara. They became parents of their 1st son Gerald. The family resided in Washington State until he was stationed in Japan for 2 years without his family. After returning from Japan, he moved his family to Colorado, where he was stationed at Lowery Air Force base. His second son Bernard was born. They lived in Colorado for several years where he was assigned to NATO. He had special assignments in France and Holland with NATO. His job in Afcent was to drive and deliver to missile sites in Belgium and Germany, leaving on Monday, returning on Friday. He traveled to many counties in Europe with his family during his four years he was stationed there. He was assigned to Hill Air Force base after completing his tour in Europe. He retired in 1970 after 24 years of service. Returning to Colorado, he worked for Sentry Hardware and Enterprise Car Rental. He joined LUMC; he ushered for 20 years and was in the choir for 20 years. He has a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, and a host of friends.
